Iron the most abundant transition metal in our bodies is involved in a number of biologically important processes such as respiration oxygen transport and energy production in collaboration with oxygen. In living cells iron exists mainly as ferrous (fe2) and ferric (fe3) ionic forms. As a major contributor to oxidative damage of cells fe2 is implicated in serious diseases such as cancers and neurodegenerative disorders because of its ability to produce harmful reactive oxygen species via contact with oxygen superoxide and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).BioTracker ferroOrange Live Cell Dye is an orange fluorescent probe that specifically detects labile iron (II) ions (fe2) only. The intensity of fluorescence does not increase in the presence of iron (III) ions (fe3) or bivalent metal ions other than iron. It also does not react to chelated iron in ferritin and other substances. ferroOrange is suitable for live-cell imaging because it is highly cell-permeable and has low cell toxicity

Biotium NucSpot Live 650, 1000X in DMSO
NucSpot Live Cell Nuclear Stains are cell-membrane permeable DNA dyes that specifically stain nuclei in live or fixed cells. They have excellent specificity for DNA without the need for a wash step, and they have low toxicity for live cell imaging. The dyes are supplied as 1000X stock solutions in DMSO, and are supplied with a vial of verapamil, which may increase probe retention and staining in some cell types. NucSpot Live 650 stains nuclei with far-red fluorescence and has an excitation/emission of 650/675 nm for detection in the Cy5 channel. RedDot™1 is a far-red cell membrane-permeable nuclear dye similar to Draq5™. The dye is ideal for specifically staining the nuclei of live cells. RedDot™1 is highly thermostable and photostable, providing convenient handling for demanding applications such as confocal microscopy. The stain may also be used for DNA content analysis by flow cytometry. The dye has an excitation/emission of 662/694 nm when bound to DNA. Properties: Liquid; Store at 4°C or -20°C, protect from light; Ex/Em= 662/694 nm (with DNA).
